Biological Industries USA is sponsoring CURE Innovation Commons

Cromwell-based Biological Industries USA, the North American division of Biological Industries, is sponsoring CURE Innovation Commons, a new science and technology incubator in Groton.

The sponsorship includes training, substantial product discounts and stem cell research grants for residents of The Commons throughout 2017. The company declined to disclose the dollar value of the sponsorship.

Biological Industries USA is a developer and manufacturer of cell culture media, molecular biology tools, human cytogenetics media, stem cell research and other services.

CURE Innovation Commons includes 22,000 square feet of commercial-grade laboratory, office and coworking spaces as well as meeting and event facilities.

The sponsorship will launch Nov. 17 during the second “Thirsty Thursday at The Commons,” an informal social gathering for the Connecticut entrepreneurs and industry professionals, at The Commons at 93 Shennacossett Road in Groton.

Tanya Potcova, CEO of BI USA said, “Having opened our doors in Connecticut just last year, we see so much potential for research and collaboration in Connecticut. This particularly includes New London County, with its educated workforce, proximity to both Boston and New York City, and excellent infrastructure. We want to do all we can to help nurture that potential and to help ensure that the Nutmeg State becomes a true science hub.”
